Who can borrow documents from the HSG Library?

Everyone can register to use the HSG-Library / swisscovery using a SWITCH edu-ID

Use all our services if you live or study in Switzerland
If you live abroad you can use the library with restricted rights

Libraries, which take part in national or international interlibrary loans as well as commercial and non-commercial organizations can create an account here.

How do I register for the library?

Register yourself with the Swiss Library Service Platform (SLSP).
If you already registered yourself with another SLSP Library you can use the library right away.

Why is my library card/HSGcard invalid and is not working at the self-check station?

You did not register for swisscovery yet.
Your card is not linked to your existing library account. You can do this here.

Please note:
HSG students: matriculation number (without dashes)
HSG members: 16-digit card number 629912… (without spaces)
External library users: Card number of the library card

What happens to my data?

SLSP imports your personal data (name, address, phone numbers, date of birth) from your SWITCH edu-ID account int HSGswisscovery when registering.

You can see and edit your personal data at any time on your SWITCH edu-id account. Any changes will automatically be submitted to HSGswisscovery. Library specific data, such as items borrowed, orders, and fees will be managed directly in the new library system.

You can delete your library account at any time, given that you do not have any open transactions left (borrowed items or fees).

All transactional data will be rendered anonymous regularly and HSGswisscovery accounts will be deleted after 10 years of inactivity.
